The Donation: A local automotive manufacturer donated more than 1,200 recycle bins to ReSource.

The Discovery: Ruth Anne Wolfe, Pleasant Ridge Montessori parent and secretary of the Pleasant Ridge School Foundation, Inc., discovered the bins while browsing the ReSource warehouse.

The Re-Use: "I wanted to show you the way the black containers we found at ReSource have been transformed into a TerraCycle cart," wrote Wolfe in an email to ReSource executive director Molly Lohr.

"Children drop the items from their lunch into these TerraCycle bins so we can send them to TerraCycle, get money for the school, and keep trash out of the landfill! Your work at ReSource gives us items like this that we can use at such a reasonable fee that it really helps our organization! Thank you to you and your board members and business donors."

The Follow-up: "A few" recycling bins are still available at the ReSource warehouse, according to Lohr. ReSource member nonprofits can acquire them for $1 per bin. For more information, call Carol Amato at 513-554-4966.
