ReSource's Kicks Off 13th Year of Professional Development Training
Published Monday, December 19, 2011Did you know that ReSource is one of the few sources for regularly scheduled non-profit training in the Greater Cincinnati area?
In 2011 alone, ReSource held 11 capacity-building seminars for nonprofit employees and volunteers on topics including: Creating An Actionable Marketing Plan; Coaching & Developing Your Staff; Taking Your Development Program to the Next Level; Social Media Legal Issues; and Board Effectiveness/Organizational Development.
Starting in 1999 with one program, the seminars moved to a quarterly schedule and now a monthly schedule. Since 2000, ReSource has held 107 seminars, training 3,635 people.
"Training programs like these are important for the many small, local nonprofits that operate with minimal staff resources," explained Molly Lohr, Executive Director of ReSource.
Cost is another reason for the popularity of the seminars.
ReSource's seminars offer significant benefit and value for the nonprofit community, providing a broad base of professional development topics at a reasonable cost," said Francie Wolgin, Senior Program Officer at The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati.
"The Foundation provides meeting space and we collaborate in planning so the ReSource seminars compliment our capacity building program," Wolgin added.
Another partner is U.S. Bank, a long-time corporate supporter with a strong history of investing in innovative programs designed to serve our local community.
Seminars are $25 for ReSource members and $35 for nonmembers. For more information on upcoming or past seminars, please visit http://www.resourceweb.org/seminars.asp.
