POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Assistant 1 /Shipping and Receiving Driver
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse and Deliveries
HIRING MANAGER: Executive Director
SUPERVISOR: Warehouse Coordinator
GENERAL PURPOSE: Perform a variety of routine and complex warehouse operation work not limited to, but including loading, unloading, driving and executing Transportation Plans for daily delivery and pick up of donated items. This work supports the mission of ReSource to provide merchandise and support services to qualified non-profit members through collaborations with businesses, funders and other nonprofit entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Driving
- Maintain Truck Maintenance Records daily and / or weekly
- Fuel Truck
- Log all stops
- Plug in truck during cold weather
- Experience driving a straight truck
- Must possess a good driving record
- Knowledge of the Greater Cincinnati area
- No CDL required
- Inventory Control
- Ability to stock merchandise
- Ability to organize the warehouse
- Assess Merchandise Handling Fees
- Break up wood furniture for disposal
- Assist with conducting physical inventories
- Clean the facility as needed
- Ability to safely operate various types of equipment
- Light assembly work
- Interacting with ReSource Member Organizations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Deliver merchandise to Members
- Interacting with Donors
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to complete and return Donation Sheets
- Able to assess the quality of donations and determine if they are acceptable for pickup
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must have experience driving a straight truck; manual and automatic transmission.
- Knowledge of the Greater Cincinnati area
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- High level of concentration with attention to detail
- Use sound judgment and decision-making
- Ability to meet multiple demands of the business
- Must be able to communicate effectively and in difficult situations
- Must be alert to changes in the work environment and be flexible to meet those changes
- Able to read a map
- Able to use computer map program
- Able to follow route instructions
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES
- High School diploma or GED; valid driver's license; satisfactory driving record; legally eligible to work in the USA.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
- Trucks, dollies (2 & 4 wheel), lift gate, pallet jack, dock plate, elevators, fork lift, chain saw, cell phone/check messages
- Essential Functions
Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, walk and stand (standing required for 5 hours at time) - Must be able to frequently lift and or move up to 80 pounds
- Must possess thorough knowledge of traffic laws and be adept at defensive driving.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under various weather conditions.
- Ability to work under circumstances with substantial changes in temperature.
- Must be able to plan the delivery or pick up route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
